How to create a POLi Link

There are 3 types of POLi Links. A simple link, which enables the customer to simply pay the amount set on created. A variable link, which allows the customer to fill in the payment amount. Lastly, a discounted link, which enables a discount to be applied if the payment is made before a certain date.

To create a POLi Link, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Navigate to the POLi Link creation page via POLi Links > Create from the left hand menu.
  2. Select ‘Simple‘, ‘Variable‘ or ‘Discounted‘ as the link type.
  3. Fill out the necessary details for you transaction – See table below for more information on each field.
  4. Click ‘Get Payment URL’ and copy the URL displayed in the ‘Payment URL’ box.
POLi Link Field

Description

Amount The total amount you are requesting payment for.
Discounts The amount the customer will pay if they pay before the specified due date.
Merchant Reference Any reference/reconciliation data you would like recorded with the transaction.
Reference Format Determines what data is entered into the Particulars, Code and Reference bank fields. For more information click here.
Multiple Payment Whether or not you want this link to be used multiple times.
Allow Over Payment Whether or not you would like to give the payer the option to pay more than the amount specified.
Send Confirmation Email Whether or not you would like an email confirmation that the payment has been completed. The email will be sent to the registered email address account held for merchant account which has been signed into when creating this link.
Customer Reference Required Whether or not you would like to give the payer the option to add additional reference data.
Allow Partial Payment Whether or not you would like to give the payer the option to settle the total amount over multiple payments. E.g. two $5 payments for a $10.00 link
Email Link to Customer Whether or not you would like to email this POLi link to the customer. You will be prompted for a name and email address.
Merchant Data An optional field for any additional data you wish to store against this POLi link and any transactions made from it.
Payment Date The future date the payment can be made, if not made immediately.
Payment URL Expiry The date the payment URL is no longer valid.
Payment URL Firstly select ‘Get Payment URL’ at the bottom of the form to generate a URL. Copy this URL so it can be sent via email or placed on web page accessed by the payer.
