Changing your Authentication Code
As a merchant using POLi as a payment solution, it is important to consider the risks and consequences before changing your Authentication Code. While changing your code may provide added security, it also comes with certain implications that may impact your ability to use POLi with related services.
Firstly, it is important to understand that once you change your Authentication Code, we will not be able to see what the new code is. This means that if you forget or lose the new code, there will be no way to retrieve it or reset it. It is therefore crucial to have proper measures in place to securely store and maintain a copy of your new code.
Additionally, it is important to note that changing your Authentication Code may have a significant impact on the services you use. Specifically, if you use POLi in conjunction with solutions such as Shopify, Xero, or Pay Now with POLi, these services will cease to work once your Authentication Code has been changed. This is because the new code will not be known to these solutions, and as such, they will not be able to initiate and authenticate transactions made through POLi. Should you wish to change your Authentication Code and continue using these solutions, let our support team know what the new code is and these services can be reconnected.
